A France-based cabals of fugitives and deniers of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi continue to have nightmares associated with President Macron’s determination and commitment to bring to justice the fugitives.
But not only that, to bring recognition. The late Aminadab Birara, a man who has been posthumously celebrated for his role in saving over 1,000 Tutsis in the Bisesero, in the Western Province.
Birara mobilized men, women and children, each with a dedicated role to put up a fight against the genocidal government forces and the Interahamwe militias, who were all armed to the teeth to wipe out Tutsis.
The heroic Birara was killed by the militia mob who went on to kill over 50,000 others in the area but a legacy was left behind and the Abasesero still celebrate him and France just joined them to celebrate his outstanding human acts.
Renaming the street in honour of the courage of the Tutsi of Bisesero speaks volumes since the Bisesero area where Birara’s heroism has roots served also as the main area of deployment for the so-called ‘Operation Tourqouise’.
That was a military mission by French troops which was deployed to, ostensibly, offer humanitarian assistance but rather deicided to side with the genocidal government.
The development comes just a year after French President Macron visited Rwanda and delivered a historical speech at the Kigali Genocide Memorial in which he refuted those that push double genocide theories. Maxron stressed “there was only one single genocide – that is the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi” among other revelations that itched to the core genocide fugitives, deniers and their apologists.
“The time has come to reconcile our memories, recognize the past, bow to the victims (of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi), and listen to the survivors’ pain,” Macron added
France is home to at least 47 indicted Genocide suspects who include Agathe Kanziga Habyarimana, widow of the genocidal regime leader Juvenal Habyarimana and hundreds of deniers and revisionists who have been hiding in the country for years.
However, the days of those criminals are numbered as President Macron pledged to not tolerate them anymore. They will soon be brought to book, it’s just a matter of time. Watch this space!
