Convicted genocide denier Ingabire Victoire Umuhoza (IVU) continues to think she is at the center of the universe. She has taken to whining to some international media outlets that she was “blocked” from attending the recently-concluded Commonwealth Heads of Government summit (CHOGM).
But IVU dreamed of attending the Heads of Government gathering in what capacity? What delusions!
Ingabire’s unfounded claims were given a platform in the Australia-based “The Sydney Morning Herald” website, but the rogue woman’s claims were nothing other than smokescreens meant for a naïve and gullible audience.
In fact IVU remains a beneficiary of presidential clemency, in case she has forgotten. A convicted prisoner, she was released on presidential mercy (after she begged for the clemency several times).
History won’t forget that Ingabire was arrested and sentenced to 15 years in 2013 after she was convicted of inciting the masses to revolt against the government, forming armed groups to destabilize the country, and minimizing the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
But what did the woman do? She went back to her terrorism related activities, hate speech, and anti-government propaganda (which some falsely claim to be “opposition activity).
While addressing the CHOGM presser in Kigali over the weekend, President Kagame brought it out clearly that “Ingabire is not in prison but should be in prison now” revealing that there are “some people (who) decided to make that person an angel of freedom and democracy.”
The public’s wish to the concerned institutions is to consider revoking this revisionist’s pardon so that she serves the rest of her jail term. She has chosen to abuse conditions of her parole blatantly.
But no one is above the law!
