Their story started after the M23 resurgence. Tshisekedi and his henchmen formed a flimsy lie and called two cowherds they abducted, soldiers of RDF. The intention was to implicate Rwanda in their mess. The lie didn’t hold long.
The provocation continued. On May 23, FARDC in coalition with FDLR shelled Rwandan territory and kidnapped two soldiers while on patrol along the Rwandan border. Tshisekedi and his henchmen started a propaganda that the soldiers were fighting with the M23. A hoax they keep weaponizing till to date.
As their internal conflicts was escalating, the EAC Heads of State conclave and Luanda Tripartite Summit offered recommendations to solve the issue once for all, unfortunately, they fell on deaf ears of Tshisekedi and his henchmen.
What does Tshisekedi want?
Tshisekedi knows that he failed as the president of DRC and as the elections approach, he wants to keep portraying Rwanda as the primary force behind the instability that has plagued the Eastern Congo, so as to win the hearts of Congolese voters.
When his henchmen announce sugarcoated statements like “DRC will inject $ 1billion in army in 2023” ; Congolese should not be deluded. This kind of cash will end up in window dressing of presidential campaigns, vote riggings and kleptocratic deals.
