UNGA 77: Tshisekedi utters his delusional smear against Rwanda

Last night was another circus as DRC’s failed ruler Felix Tshisekedi finally got an opportunity to feed the entire world with his imaginary anti-Rwanda rants. This time he took his failures on the global stage, as usual scapegoating Rwanda in his strategy of dodging his responsibilities towards the Congolese people. Insecurity rages in Congo solely because of the failures of the Congolese regime.

Tshisekedi was addressing the 77th of the United Nations General Assembly-UNGA77 that is currently taking place at the UN headquarters in New York, and, as anticipated, the man cried terribly about Rwanda! He was shouting his usual absurd claims that Rwanda has “responsibility in tragedy experienced by my county,” mumbling that “it is no longer debatable” that RDF its M23 allies occupy areas of Congo; and other smears that hold no water.

To add insult to injury, Tshisekedi added the smear that Rwanda (which always raises concerns about the Congolese regime being in bed with the genocidal FDLR) is “using FDLR as an ‘alibi’ to justify its ‘aggression on Congo.’l

These are the usual childish noises of the Kinshasa regime. Nothing surprising there.

The world must know that the very same terrorist group (FDLR) in recent months shelled Rwandan territory multiple times, from Congolese soil! This shelling claimed lives of innocent Rwandan citizens, and destroyed several properties.

This by the way is the same group of which investigations into the death of Italian Ambassador Luca Attanasio early last year, revealed as the culprits. But the Congolese ruler, desperately trying to sanitize FDLR, tried to disparage the facts of the investigation (that FDLR killed the Italian ambassador).

In fact the Tshisekedi went on to “urge the International Community to reprimand the Rwandan government!” But laughably he was downplaying damning facts in a UN reports that unmasked the unholy alliance between his country’s army (FARDC) and FDLR, and how DRC supports armed groups in the region.

That’s the circus of Kinshasa for you.

The Congolese ruler’s lengthy speech at UNGA was only meant for the gullible, since every single smear he made against Rwanda has long been discredited by reputable actors. For instance US Secretary of State Antony Blinken who visited Rwanda and Congo last month urged him to disband the FARDC-FDLR’s alliance, and to stop the silent genocide his forces are perpetrating (together with FDLR) against Kinyarwanda-speaking Tutsi citizens of Congo.

Blinken’s recommendations were also echoed by the UN secretary-general, Antonio Guterres, who recently called out President Tshisekedi to own up to Congolese insecurity issues – and to particularly holding talks with the M23 rebel movement.

What everyone is telling the infantile Kinshasa regime heads is to endeavor to address their failures, and to deal with their internal socio-political issues, instead of always whining about Rwanda.

Rwanda has no interest in their self-inflicted mess. Rather Rwanda supports peace efforts for the region’s sustainable development, as well as and long-lasting peace.
