Anxious that the Luanda and Nairobi peace mechanisms are succeeding, Tshisekedi moves to sabotage the process

Congolese ruler Felix Tshisekedi has finally decided to banish all the pretense that he wants peace, and now is doing everything he can to sabotage the Luanda and Nairobi peace mechanisms. This is obvious in a lengthy statement by the Congolese Deputy Prime Minister, who also is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lutundula accusing the M23 movement of “refusal to withdraw from the occupied areas.” Also contained are threats that (Kinshasa) is “ready to assume its constitutional responsibilities to save its territory.”

Right away, this belligerent rhetoric raises questions as to whether the Kinshasa regime sees itself as a participant in the peace mechanisms, or simply as they simply are contemptuous o the responsibilities of the EACRF and the EJVM. It is either one, or the other! Instead of implementing their part of the agreement and leaving the responsibility of monitoring who is, or who is not respecting the agreement to the EAC facilitator (or regional leaders as stipulated by the mechanism), the Tshisekedi regime arbitrarily is taking matters in its hands!

Kinshasa shows no intention of respecting the Luanda and Nairobi processes, not even in pretense! All we have seen is them paying lip service to the peace process without making any tangible progress toward actual implementation. The only thing Tshisekedi is intent on doing is sabotaging the process, to continue the crisis he himself and his regime have created, for the purpose of postponing the elections scheduled for the end of this year. Tshisekedi and his cronies know the elections wouldn’t be in their favor, having dismally failed at governing. Their only ticket is an unending crisis, for which they then falsely blame M23.

To this end, the Kinshasa regime is even targeting regional forces deployed in DRC! The FARDC chief of general staff Christian Tshiwewe, recently made a tour of the east DRC, in what was masked as “a routine tour of the army units.” However, the real intention of the tour a Kinshasa regime plot to incite the Congolese population against the EACRF, to frustrate them and finally force them out of eastern DRC. Tshisekedi has been mobilizing terrorist armed groups, including FDLR, Nyatura, Mai-Mai, CODECO, PARECO, and others, as well as European mercenaries to support FARDC in its planned offensive against M23, a Congolese movement fighting for the rights of its people as citizens of DRC.

In fact Tshisekedi’s people have been organizing mobs to specifically target Kenyan forces, deliberately endangering their lives.

There is no doubt that the only outcome can be anarchy.
