The unholy alliance between the DRC ruler Félix Tshisekedi and FDLR – the notorious anti-Rwanda terrorist group born of ex-FAR and Interahamwe genocidaires – is increasingly getting exposed, despite (futile) efforts by Tshisekedi to bury the truth.
For instance, this blog site has secured from reliable sources a secret telephone conversation between Tshisekedi and one of his Army Commanders. In their conversation the panicky and failed President revealed that he desperately needs the support of FDLR’s “Commander-in-chief”, a certain “Maj Gen.” Pacifique Ntawunguka alias Omega.
The ongoing civil war pitting the Congolese army (FARDC) and the M23 rebel movement takes a center stage in the same conversation that lasted for about 15 minutes, and Tshisekedi brings it out clearly that “Gen” Omega who was unreachable on his telephone at that moment would be the one to organize offensives against the “enemy” as far as the victory is concerned.
The damning revelations about the Kinshasa-FDLR collaboration are overwhelming, coming in at the time when the FARDC in the mid-last year released hundreds of the FDLR fighters that had been incarcerated in various prisons across the country.
The exercise was part of the “Pinga agreement” that the two parties reached in Rutshuru in an attempt “to fast-track” the ongoing war against M23 rebels with FDLR terrorists fighting for the Congolese army.
It is an open secret that Tshisekedi allied with FDLR in an attempt to harm Rwanda’s security, and this alliance was recently unmasked by the United Nations Group of Experts through a report published in December last year.
The report revealed that Kinshasa guaranteed the FDLR full control of Virunga National Park bordering Rwanda and that the blacklisted genocidal and terrorist group is currently using the park to re-organize itself by mainly doing mass recruitment across the Eastern part of the country with intent to destabilizing Rwanda.
FDLR is majorly comprised of remnant masterminds of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi who at different times plotted hit-and-run attacks on Rwandan soil and were repelled back.
The DRC government has consistently refused to arrest members of the FDLR for their crimes against humanity, despite Rwanda’s incessant calls to do so. Instead, they have chosen to legitimize the group despite its history of heinous crimes.
It’s high time the International Community realizes that Tshisekedi isn’t interested in peace, the latest revelations is yet another testament that the Congolese failed ruler is determined to escalate the crisis for selfish political gains.
